Indie opens c-store doors

All three Benefit variants are vegan friendly

CONSOLIDATION in the UK supplier base has opened up a window through which convenience retailers and independent chocolate brands can do business, according to Montrose Chocolate Ventures.

The Stoke-based chocolatier reckons that independent chocolate brands can give c-stores a point of difference, and should be of interest to retailers looking to stand apart from the supermarkets.

Cox&Co sharing pouch packs from Montrose

Gavin Cox of Montrose Chocolate Ventures explained: “There is an opportunity to deliver high quality, authentic tasting products and engage with disillusioned consumers seeking better quality products with provenance.”

Montrose’s stable of premium chocolate brands includes a range of pouch packs and bars, available in size increments ranging from 35g to 100g, across Cox&Co, Benefit Chocolate, and Danny’s brands.

The Cox&Co brand offers ‘farm to bar’ chocolate from a single origin, Benefit Chocolate is suitable for vegans and available with added vitamins, protein and energy, while Danny’s chocolate is a more family oriented proposition with flavours ranging from Banoffee Caramel to Mississippi Mud Pie.
