Squirrelling into the confectionery market

THE clean eating trend may have led to many consumers seeking healthy options at every occasion, but sometimes snacks big on nutrition can be small on flavour.

To try and address this, snack brand Gnaw Chocolate has introduced a range of chocolate and granola bars with a high quantity of fibre and a ‘healthier chocolate’ recipe.

Gnaw chocolate uses a higher cocoa mass content and a higher cocoa butter content, which lowers the sugar content.

The brand has created three bars as part of the new range: Milk Chocolate with Peanuts, British Granola & Seeds; Milk Chocolate with Cranberries, Raisins, British Granola and Seeds and Dark Chocolate with Orange, British Granola & Seeds.

Matt Legon, founder of Gnaw, said:  “Whilst ‘being good’ is great, consumers are still reluctant to lose their sweet tooth completely and they won’t need to. Our new products will certainly keep your chocolate tills ringing.”
