Flavours collide in new crisps

AMERICAN spirit is at the heart of the latest launch from Burts Chips, with the firm teaming up with Kentucky bourbon brand Jim Beam.

Burt Chips new Jim Beam Original BBQ Chips are available in 40g single-serve bags priced at RRP 79p-99p and 120g sharing bags at RRP £1.79 – £1.99.

The bourbon flavoured crisps also ticks the boxes for health conscious consumers according to the snack manufacturer, as packs contain no MSG, hydrogenated fat or artificial colouring and are also gluten free.

Burt Chips is supporting the launch with sampling activity and a marketing campaign that includes PR and social media activity.

Jim Beam Original BBQ is the latest in a line of licensed crisps products in the Burts Chips portfolio, which includes Guinness and Hobgoblin ale flavoured snacks.

Burts Chips’ sales and marketing director Simon Knight said brand partnerships are useful in creating a unique selling point, driving growth for the brand.

“Retailers should note that BBQ is a universally appealing flavour and always ranks highly in consumer flavour polls.

“This unique spin on a traditional favourite offers retailers the perfect opportunity to differentiate their bagged snacks offer,” he said.
