More virtue in the malts

Tomatin releases the final two expressions in its limited edition series based on natural elements

Tomatin describes its Water expression as a heavier spirit and a full-bodied whisky while its says its Metal limited edition malt is light, sweet and fruity

HIGHLAND distiller Tomatin has completed its Five Virtues series with the release of Metal and Water expressions.

The series draws inspiration from the elements of nature – Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal and Water – with each single malt expression limited to a run of 6,000 bottles with a focus on the effects of different cask maturations.

Marketing manager Jennifer Masson said: “After the tremendous success we experienced when we released our first three expressions in the series we are incredibly excited to see how the public receive the final two elements.”

Distillery general manager, Graham Eunson, added: “The Water expression, a winter distilled spirit, is a slightly heavier and fuller spirit, which when combined with its Sherry cask maturation, gives a full-bodied whisky.

“The Metal expression uses bourbon barrels, which accentuate Tomatin’s house style; light, sweet and fruity.”
