SCOTCH whisky forms an integral part of many Burns Suppers – from the grandest gathering to the most intimate home celebration – and brand owners have lined up a wide selection of drams for this year’s revellers.
The Loch Lomond Group has introduced a new limited-edition bottle for its High Commissioner brand.
The High Commissioner Heritage Edition label highlights 1856, the year the brand was founded.
Marketing manager Scott Dickson said: “The Heritage Edition is a celebration of over 160 years of craftsmanship.
“To this day, this premium blended Scotch whisky is crafted from an original Bulloch family recipe.”
Loch Lomond recommends that retailers should expand their stock of single malts in the run-up to Burns Night and says PMPs will help make the most of each brand.
This is the first in a planned series of special releases using whiskies from distilleries no longer in production.
Master distiller Jim Beveridge said: “We have stocks from more than 30 distilleries from every region of Scotland from which to choose.”
Peatheart is new from anCnoc. Made at the Knockdhu Distillery in Aberdeenshire, Peatheart takes its name from the nearby peat bogs.
Marketing director Karen Walker said: “When we first launched the Peaty Collection we had no idea how successful it would be.
“Seven awards later, we’re excited to announce Peatheart as our latest release”.
