Sipping on a slimmer can

CCEP swapping 330ml for 250ml

SIZE matters, according to Coca-Cola European Partners (CCEP), as the firm moves to replace its 330ml Appletiser and Schweppes cans with a slimmer 250ml pack.

The packaging changes are being rolled out across all Appletiser and Schweppes sparkling juice drinks, including Appletiser Apple and Pomegranate flavour, which has been launched in a can for the first time.

Appletiser 250ml cans are available in a 69p PMP as well as in six-can multi-pack.

Amy Burgess, trade communications manager at CCEP, said the new cans “boast a sophisticated, sleek and modern packaging design” that reinforce the brand’s “quality credentials”.

Commenting on the change to Schweppes packaging, Burgess said: “The new format will appeal to health-conscious consumers looking for an adult soft drink that doesn’t compromise on quality or taste.

“The drink has only 50 calories per 250ml portion, and comes in Grapefruit and Blood Orange and Lemon and Elderflower flavour variants.

“The new format has a sophisticated, sleek and modern packaging design, which taps into the growing trend for premium soft drinks for instant consumption occasions.

“An exciting sampling plan across the summer will help to deliver the launch of the new 250ml can format.”
