RETAILERS could win a grand day out on Kerry Foods this summer as the firm launches a new competition aimed at helping to grow snack sales.
Running throughout the summer, the trade competition will see one winner per week treated to £150 worth of experience vouchers until 1 September when the competition closes.
To enter the competition, retailers are invited to visit the Kerry Foods trade website and submit their details on the competition page to download a set of snacking tips. Retailers can also gain an extra chance of picking up a prize by tweeting about their entry and gaining another competition entry in the process.
Ian Garrett, sales director for convenience at Kerry Foods commented: “Summer is an exciting time for convenience stores, however retailers need to ensure they are prepared and plan ahead to maximise the sales potential.
“Our internal data suggests that with the right range, promotion and merchandising, retailers could see an uplift of 8% or more in their chilled snacking sales during this key season.
“We know during the holidays as the weather improves, shopper footfall and spend in convenience stores increases. With 30% of shoppers saying that they are likely to spend more on this channel during the summer period on BBQ, snacks, soft drinks and picnic items.
