Simply natural annual growth

DEMAND for premium ice cream is growing in Scotland and Simply Ice Cream is growing with it, according to managing director Sally Newall.

Reporting that the Kent-based company’s turnover increased by 20% in 2016 following a 51% jump in 2015, Newall said: “We have found that Scottish provenance is certainly important to Scottish shoppers but not to an extent that is it prohibitive.
“Our ice cream range is a genuinely handmade product created in small batches.
“Our three most popular flavours in Scotland are the Heavenly Honeycomb Crunch, the Salted Caramel and Dreamy Vanilla.”
Newall added that Simply has released a limited-edition Atholl Brose flavour made with whisky, Scottish oats, cream and honey combined with rich ice cream.
She said: “We are seeing a move towards alcoholic ice-creams and cocktails, so have developed our own Atholl Brose Ice Cream.”
