Filling the gluten gap

WITH 20% of UK shoppers now buying gluten-free products, according to Mintel research, a growing number of shoppers are looking for sweet and savoury treats that are also gluten-free – which is why Flower & White has added gluten-free muffins to its range.

“We are always keeping an eye on the latest trends and saw a definite gap in the baked goods market for great tasting gluten-free cakes,” said company co-founder Leanne Crowther.  Muffinz are available in six flavours including Salted Caramel and Coffee Caramel.
Schar has launched new Salti gluten-free crackers as part of a raft of new product development.
The gluten, wheat and lactose-free salted mini crackers are one of six new products designed to bring gluten-free products to the mainstream market. Other lines include Pain au Chocolat and Panini Rolls.
