App for slippery customers

Good-fish-appTHE Marine Conservation Society has released a seafood app which it hopes will help retailers and fish industry buyers to only choose fish from sustainable sources.
The UK charity says it has created the Good Fish Guide app (free on both iOS and Android) to help clarify what can seem a complex issue.
“Making sure the fish you are buying is as sustainable as possible, in season and big enough to have reproduced makes the whole issue a bit of a minefield,” said Bernadette Clarke, MCS Good Fish Guide programme manager.
“Many fishmongers and fish counter staff have some of the information customers require, but not all. The Good Fish Guide mobile app has all the answers right at your finger tips.”
The app lists fish alongside their MCS Fish to Eat or Fish to Avoid rating – red, green or amber (eat only occasionally). It also includes recipes and seafood restaurant ratings.
