Müller goes for gold

MAJOR yogurt and chilled dairy pudding manufacturer Müller Yogurt & Desserts, an official partner of both Team GB and Team Ireland for the Rio 2016 Olympics, developed its Olympic-related activity by running a special promotion on its Müller Corner, Müllerlight and Müller Rice brands. The promo gave consumers the chance to win a total of £250,000.
Five gold medal lids were hidden in promotional single pots of the Müller products – consumers that found them could win £50,000 each.
The promotion was supported by a TV ad featuring British athlete Kriss Akabusi.
Earlier this year the giant firm refreshed its Fruit Corner and Crunch Corner range with new recipes, packaging design and ads.
The company describes the new-recipe products as thicker, creamier tasting and “more Müllerlicious”.
The new ad campaign, featuring singer, songwriter and actress Nicole Scherzinger, began in April and runs through the rest of the year.

• Jam brand Bonne Maman’s new range of chilled desserts is being supported by a £2.5m marketing support campaign including the brand’s first national UK TV ads, says the firm.
The ads began in April and run until the middle of this month.
The new chilled desserts include: Strawberry Mousse; Rice & Raspberries; Strawberries & Cream; Chocolate Mousse; and Vanilla Crème & Raspberries. RRP is £1.39 for a pack of two.

• Danone Oykos has appointed entertainer Peter Andre as “the hunk” for its new Greek-style whipped mousse. Oykos Whip ‘n’ Mix is a whipped mousse with a corner of fruit compote that’s available in three flavours – Strawberry, Blueberry and Cherry. It was launched last month and is backed by a £1m marketing campaign. Oykos Whip ‘n’ Mix four-packs available in Strawberry, Peach, Pear, and Passionsfruit flavours, have an RRP £2.49.
