Crisps, nuts and snacks are big sellers at Christmas and manufacturers have released special products and limited-edition packs for this year’s party season.

WHETHER they’re served in bowls at parties or eaten straight from the pack in front of festive TV, crisps, nuts and snacks are big sellers at Christmas.
KP Snacks says that 40% of all of its nuts sales occur in the festive season and that its caddies delivered £4m of retail sales last year.
And this year it has expanded its caddy range, adding an XL Crunchy Coated Sweet Chilli and Lemon flavour peanuts pack.
KP has also created festive editions of some of its biggest-selling snacks including Pom-Bear snowmen and Hula Hoops Stars as well as salt and vinegar Reindeer Bites.

• Sales of large sharing packs of crisps increase by 77% at Christmas according to Pringles, which has introduced a festive Pigs in Blankets limited-edition flavour for this year’s festivities.
In December it is giving consumers the chance to win a £300 shopping voucher by uploading a photo, video or vine in its Merry Pringles social media promotion.

• Tyrells Crisps has brought its Crisp-mas limited-edition packs back this year.
Marketing manager Ruth Irving said: “We see our biggest peaks of sales at Christmas.
“This is prime time for consumers to be purchasing products in a sharing format so we ensure we are visible and are often on an attractive deal, especially to entice new shoppers.”

• Free-from snack manufacturer Yumsh Snacks says that Christmas is a time for sharing and has put its Ten Acre crisps into a 135g pack.
CEO Tony Goodman said: “At this time of year – consumers are looking for quality, and that something extra special.”
