Hats off to seasonal rule breakers

WKD-Chrtistmas-2015RULES can be broken at Christmas. In fact, eating too many mince pies or wearing kitschy jumpers can be justified precisely because it’s Christmas according to WKD brand owner SHS Drinks.
It’s launching a series of WKD festive promotions to reflect what it calls the madness of the season.
Extreme wrapping, ‘Ladvent’ calendars and branded festively themed head wear will feature in the interactive digital campaign launching at the end of this month.
SHS will also run wholesale and cash and carry promotions giving retailers the opportunity to offer single unit price points of £2.50 on WKD £2.99 PMP 700ml bottles and a single unit price of £4.49 on the WKD £4.99 PMP four-packs.
Marketing director Debs Carter said: “Last year we predicted that RTD price-marked pack sales would continue to grow at Christmas and this was certainly the case with PMP sales up by 85% on the previous Christmas.
“The convenience and impulse sectors really do come into their own over the festive season and last Christmas they accounted for 36% of the £57m of take-home RTD sales during the Christmas period.”
