Capitalise on the power of display

Showing your wares is an essential part of retail and Varta has created a battery-shaped stand to help shops display their battery stocks in the run-up to Christmas and during the rush for batteries that always follows the big day.
Sales and marketing director Anthony Sewart said: “Two-thirds of all consumer battery purchases are impulse driven, so shoppers will be drawn in by promotional displays.

“This is especially important in the run-up to Christmas, when batteries are needed by families for gifts, lights and decorations.”
He said festive battery sales start in October and run through to February as people stock up on batteries for gifts then hunt for the right battery sizes to power up toys that didn’t have any included.
As more consumer products come with rechargeable batteries, Varta has extended its range of chargers.
Its Phone Power range has been updated with a bigger capacity  and a choice of micro USB, Apple 30-pin and Apple Lightning adaptors while the two-in-one Powerpack and Charger uses AA batteries and has a USB connector.
For the active user,  Varta has created two exercise headlights.
Varta says the headlights are drop proof and water resistant, so users can be confident they’ll stand up to outdoor adventures whatever the weather.
Sewart said: “This is the first time we have offered a range of headlights designed for outdoor exercise.
“Consumers are increasingly looking for sports equipment that not only delivers on performance and value for money but also looks good.
“We expect the headlights to be popular with shoppers as darker mornings and evenings arrive this autumn.”
VARTA has also developed an app to help consumers identify which battery they need.
