And this year shop shelves of Scotland could see a double whammy. Just weeks after the Bakeoff final is aired one of the biggest baking shows will hit Edinburgh’s Royal Highland Exhibition Centre.

After events in London and Manchester over the last two years, the Cake & Bake Show is heading to Scotland for the first time and runs from 30 October to 1 November. Organisers are expecting 18,000 visitors at the show, which will feature TV foodie expert Gregg Wallace, celebrity chef Rosemary Shrager, Aaron Craze of Saturday Cookbook, actress and winner of Celebrity Masterchef Lisa Faulkner, TV chef Phil Vickery, French pâtissier and celebrity chef Eric Lanlard and others.
