THE second phase of the UK Government’s Rural Fuel Rebate Relief scheme has come into effect, which should mean cheaper fuel costs for motorists in 14 areas of Scotland.
The Highlands postcodes involved are: IV54, IV26, IV27, PH36, IV22, PH41, KW12, PH23, PH19, IV21 and IV14.
The Argyll Bute postcodes are PA80 and PA38.
Brian Madderson, chairman of the Petrol Retailers Association, said: “It is a legal obligation that the retailer should pass on the full amount of this duty rebate within six months of commencement.
“So people in the west of Scotland, where these postcodes are, should hopefully be seeing an immediate reduction in the price of their road fuel.”
