Jaffa joins teacake family

LEES of Scotland now has new packaging and a new flavour for its Teacakes range.

Sales director Bert Croll said: “Featuring warm vibrant colours, the new packaging ensures strong shelf standout for both products.”

The range has been expanded with the addition of Jaffa Teacakes.

Croll continued: “The Jaffa Teacake is made with jaffa jam and each pack contains 14 teacakes.

“Its packaging has been designed to complement the rest of the Lees range.

“It has an orange background with a mustard tone.”

Coll pointed to a snacking culture in the UK and said that the Lees products are ideal for people who don’t have the time to sit down to eat.

He said: “Consumers are continually picking up treats they can consume on the move.

“In the last year, small, snackable cakes like Lees Teacakes and Snowballs have overtaken large cakes in market share.

“Consumers are placing greater importance on home-grown brands.

“Lees is a Scottish success story and we have seen a 15% increase in sales year to date.”
