Booker posts sales growth

WHOLESALER and Premier symbol group owner Booker Group reported a positive Christmas period with total sales in the 16 weeks to 2 January 2015, including Makro, up 1.4% on the same period last year.  Booker like-for-like sales (excluding Makro where sales dropped as the group continued to exit from some product categories) were 2.5% higher.
Charles Wilson, Booker chief executive, said: “This was a good quarter, with Booker Group continuing to make progress in a challenging market.”
Steve Fox, sales director – retail, said the firm’s retail channels including Premier, Family Shopper, and Retail Club had performed well.
