Westminster follows Holyrood on vaping consultations

12c_0115_RWESTMINSTER has followed the Scottish Government’s lead by looking into controlling the sale of vaping products.
The Department of Health has launched a consultation on plans to ban the sale of e-cigs and other nicotine containing devices to under-18s.
The proposed regulations would also make it an offence for an adult to buy an e-cig on behalf of a minor.
A similar consultation on the sale of e-cigs, launched by the Scottish Government, closed on 2 January.
When it was announced in October, then minister for public health Michael Matheson said: “This consultation is the first step towards proper regulation
of the devices in Scotland.
We will carefully consider the responses and decide what are the most appropriate next steps.”
Westminster’s consultation closes on 28 January.
