Metering the power of menthol

UK sales of sugar confectionery, or candy confectionery as Mondelez International calls it, are now worth more than £1.1 billion, with medicated confectionery accounting for 8% of the total and worth over £95m.

The firm says its brand Halls is the world’s number one candy confectionery brand and that its brands lead the medicated confectionery market, with sale worth £31m.
Halls packs include a menthol power meter – reporting intensity from its Assorted Citrus at number one to Extra Strong at number five. The firm has recently introduced its ‘Fresh Stop’ unit, which holds its mints, gum and medicated confectionery lines and is designed to fit small counter tops.
