Croissants on an autumn roll

AUTUMN sees a rise in the purchase of hot baked goods, according to specialist supplier Lantmännen Unibake UK.

“As temperatures drop, we see a trend towards more bakery products,” said marketing manager Rachel Shoosmith.
The company claims that, at breakfast, the most notable effect is seen with croissants, which are said to have achieved a volume uplift of 21% during autumn and winter last year.
“Bakehouse-branded croissants from Lantmännen Unibake bake off straight from frozen in just 18 minutes, making it easy for retailers to capitalise on this opportunity,” she said.
