ONE of the UK’s glitziest and most expensive cigarette brands has added a value line to the range.

Tobacco firm JTI has extended its Benson & Hedges range with the launch of B&H Blue.
Two variants, B&H Blue King Size and B&H Smooth Flavour King Size, are available in packs of 19 sticks. Both styles have an RRP of £6.50 for the 19-pack.
JTI’s Benson & Hedges is well-established in the premium-priced cigarette market segment where a 20 pack of Benson & Hedges Gold is often priced above £8.80 and can reach more than £9 in some outlets. It also has Benson & Hedges Silver in the sub-premium segment.
JTI describes B&H Blue as a new cigarette made from a quality blend of Virginia tobacco, which will offer existing adult smokers affordable quality from a respected brand with a premium heritage.
Jeremy Blackburn, JTI’s head of communications, said: “Benson & Hedges remains the most iconic tobacco brand in the UK, evolving over the years to remain relevant to the market.”
In conjunction with the launch, JTI is running a competition offering tobacco retailers the chance to win a range of prizes, including two Sony TVs, 15 iPad Airs and 30 Sony clock radios.
Every retailer entering the competition will receive a £5 money-off-next-purchase coupon for B&H Blue.
Tobacco retailers need to collect two barcodes from B&H Blue King Size 19s or B&H Blue Smooth Flavour King Size 19s outers and return along with a completed entry form (available in the trade press and from selected wholesale depots) before 8 August 2014.
