Magners Summer Nights festival will take place in Kelvingrove Bandstand, Glasgow, in August. The brand’s pre-summer promotion has just ended.

IRISH cider brand Magners is to sponsor a summer music festival at Glasgow’s newly refurbished Kelvingrove bandstand. The Magners Summer Nights festival will be the first major event held at the outdoor venue, following its £2m revamp.
The festival will run across two weekends in August (7-10 and 14-16), with a line-up including Alison Moyet, The Waterboys, Steve Earle, Squeeze, Capercaillie and Glasgow’s very own Teenage Fanclub.
The bandstand has a capacity of 2.500. There will be a Magners cider garden and street food stalls on the site, and doors will open at 6pm to allow the audience to enjoy the setting on the River Kelvin, beside Glasgow University.
Paul Condron, marketing director for Magners, said: “2014 is an incredible year for Glasgow, a city that rightly enjoys a great reputation for music. We’re sure that Magners Summer Nights will add to this reputation and we’re delighted to bring such a strong line-up of UK and international artists to the Kelvingrove Bandstand.”
The brand’s pre-summer promotion, a £1,000-a-day giveaway, ran until last month.
