Looking for the northern stars

THE hunt is on for the businesses that will be winners of the Highlands & Islands Food & Drink Awards in the established programme’s 10th anniversary year.

The 12 categories once again include Independent Retailer of the Year, won last year by 40 North, a grocery store and deli that had been launched on a vacant croft in the west of the Isle of Lewis.
The awards programme, which is supported by Highlands and Islands Enterprise, looks to recognise and reward businesses across the Highlands and Islands and the Cairngorms National Park area that are displaying best practice, achieving exceptional standards and pushing boundaries.
The closing date is 23 April 2014 and there’s more info at www.hifoodanddrinkawards.com
