Protection bill not for Scots

SCOTTISH MP Graeme Morrice, has introduced a private members bill at Westminster intended to give shop workers protection against assaults – but if enforced, it will only apply to retailers in England and Wales.
Morrice’s bill seeks to give shop workers the same protection against assaults as emergency service workers.
In 2010, MSPs voted down Labour MSP Hugh Henry’s proposed Protection of Workers (Scotland) Bill, which would have introduced tougher penalties for people who assault retail workers and other public-facing staff.
