Putting a price on c-stores

THE importance of local convenience stores to their communities is the subject of research being carried out at Stirling University.

Professor Leigh Sparks, of the university’s Institute for Retail Studies, is devising a framework to identify all the ways in which c-stores boost their local areas, economically and otherwise.

Leigh-SparksThe Scottish Grocers Federation hopes the work, when it is completed, will help it make the case to politicians about why c-stores should be supported.

Professor Sparks and the SGF are asking for assistance and feedback from retailers as the project moves forward. More details are available at www.stirlingretail.com
